This project has drawn its inspiration from the long history of Moscow: traditional ornament, the architectural ensemble of the Kremlin’s scalloped towers, and the centuries-old courtyard partitions of Kitay-gorod. Heatherwick Studio, that most celebrated of architectural practices, has reinterpreted this enduring legacy, producing a visionary design for modern life in a historic neighbourhood.

Nicole Residence offers no standard apartments. Instead, it presents an outstanding collection of homes: townhouses with private patios, apartments of distinctive layouts, and two-storey apartments within a historic building — the principal structure of the Khadzhi-Konsta estate of 1737.
Nicole Residence offers an island of calm amidst the quickening rhythm of the capital — a private landscaped garden and an imaginative playground for children. Our pedestrian promenade, a unique feature connecting past and present, was recreated following the original drawings of Fyodor Shekhtel, the foremost architect of Russian Modernism. Nicole Residence preserves this legacy whilst setting a new standard for the deluxe way of living.

This is a contemporary realisation of the urbanist vision of Fyodor Shekhtel, the most luminous figure of Modernist architecture. A pedestrian walkway linking Bolshoy Cherkassky and Bogoyavlensky Lanes becomes an elegant mediator between the privacy of Nicole Residence and the infrastructure of Moscow’s city centre.

Character is what sets Nicole’s architecture and interiors apart. HBA conceived a comprehensive visual language in which every design decision responds to the aesthetic of the façades. Our designers researched Russian culture and drew inspiration from the great composers.
The palette of our interiors — from the grand lobby to the communal spaces — offers a reinterpretation of Moscow’s signature colours: from the gilded cupola and the bronze sculpture to the patrician shades of marble. Noble materials provide the central motif, drawing the spaces into coherent unity.
